How to Recover iPhone from iCloud Backup – Both Free and Paid Software Ways

About iCloud Backup

iCloud provides an easy and reliable backup solution for users who want to back up their iOS devices wirelessly and automatically without tethering to a computer.

In the following situations, iCloud Backup is better than iTunes for you:

  1. You prefer that iCloud take care of backups for you automatically when you connect your device to Wi-Fi and power.
  2. You want to restore data to your device from almost anywhere via a broadband Wi-Fi connection.
  3. You don’t connect your iOS device to a Mac or PC very frequently.
  4. You don’t own a Mac or PC.
  5. You want an automatic backup solution to use together with iTunes Backup.

Your iOS device backup includes data and settings stored on your device. It doesn’t include data already stored in iCloud. For example, Bookmarks, Contacts, Calendars, Documents you save in iCloud using iOS apps and Mac apps, Mail messages, Notes, Shared photo streams and My Photo Stream.

iCloud Backup doesn’t back up music, movies, and TV shows that you didn’t purchase from the iTunes Store, or any podcasts, audio books, or photos that you originally synced from your computer. iCloud Backup will restore your purchased music, movie, and app content from the iTunes Store, App Store, and iBooks Store during the background restore process. Previous purchases may be unavailable if they’re no longer in the iTunes Store, App Store, or iBooks Store.

iPhone Keeps Restarting Itself – How to Fix It

An iPhone Keeps Restarting?

I got a beautiful new iPhone 5 and it was working great all the while. All of a sudden, it begins to shut off. Not once, not twice but multiple number of times. Every 2-3 minutes, it restarts. How can I solve this problem?

Of course head to the Apple Store and get the damn thing replaced. Is there any more simple ways without carrying it to Apple Store? That is, you fix it yourself at home? Absolutely! Fixing iPhone reboot loop yourself is possible.

How to Fix iPhone Restarting Cycle?

Generally, if you want to exit the reboot loop, you can try to put your iPhone into DFU mode or Recovery Mode. But here, what I want to recommend is to enter Recovery Mode. And I know, there are many pages on goole to tell you how to put iPhone into or out of recovery mode. But what is the easiest and quickest one? Personally, I preferred a tool called Tenorshare ReiBoot.

reiboot for windows

enter and exit iPhone recovery mode with ReiBoot

It is a free tool provided by Tenorshare, designed to help iPhone, iPad and iPod users to enter and exit iOS Recovery Mode with one click. And I have seen a lot of other methods telling how to achieve the same goal, however, most of them are complicated with 3-4 steps. And you need to hold home or power button for several seconds. So I will recommend this tool to you aiming to giving you a simple method, and you can be out of the complicated operations in the future.

How to Use ReiBoot to Enter and Exit iPhone Recovery Mode?

You may ask, how to use this tool. Well, it is so easy to use and I think I don’t need to overstate it. Only one interface and two main buttonS on the program, as long as you download and install it on your computer, you will get how to use it. The key is to let it detect your device at first, then all will be smooth.

Note: For windows users, download it here >> ReiBoot for Windows

For Mac users, download it here >> ReiBoot for Mac

Important Note: If this does not work for you, and you got a new iPhone (5s/5/4S/4) recently and are eligible for replacement without burning a hole in your pocket, when you are stuck with an iPhone that keeps rebooting, shutting off or freezing, you can head to the store and see if you can get it replaced.

How to Encrypt iOS iTunes Backup to Secure Your Data

encrypt iPhone backup file

Why Do We Need to Encrypt Our Data in iTunes Backup

To restore iPhone, iPad, iPod touch from backup is easy and it is always the first thought to us whenever we lost our data on iPhone or iPhone is broken/stolen. Plenty of users have thanked for those times when they have lost their phones and other devices and manage to get their precious data back from the backup.

Sure, we store some very important data along with our social identities and contacts on our phones, tablets and iPod. So sometimes we are sensitive to fear that our information to be leaked to other people. If we store iPhone data to iCloud, it will be protected with the iCloud login password and other people won’t access it without the password.

But, when you copy/backup your data to computer with iTunes, the protection won’t be kept by default. If you want to keep the data in the iTunes backup secure and private, you should set the encryption for the backup files. Or anyone with an access to your computer will have the access to your iTunes backup file. Here what I mean is not to access the data in the backup file directly, it is, anyone can restore their device from the backup files not encrypted.

Especially in the events when some intruder gains physical access to your computer or your system gets stolen, then all of the backed up data from your iOS device will at complete mercy of that person – if it is not encrypted. Hence it is important to encrypt iPhone backup or any iOS device for that matter.

Why iTunes Backup Files Can’t be Accessed Directly?

I have mentioned that the data in the iTunes backup can’t be accessed directly from the backup file. It is because the data backed up with iTunes is saved on computer as SQLITE_DB files. This file format can’t be viewed without special data extractor software.

However, if you are unlucky to lose or break iOS device and want to restore data from iTunes backup, this iTunes data extractor is necessary. It is able to extract the backup from iTunes backup without iPhone or other device. So this is especially great when your device is not available but need the data urgently.

How to Set iPhone Backup Encryption to Ensure Data Safety?

Yeah, iTunes backup data can’t be viewed directly from the backup file though, it can be restored to iOS devices or extracted by iTunes data extractor if there is no encryption on it. This is especially dangerous when confidential files are in the backup. So how can we set an encryption on it manually to ensure data security?

As a matter of fact, protecting iOS iTunes backup is pretty simple and easy. The procedure works the same in Mac OX and Windows.

1. Connect your iPhone to the computer and launch iTunes

2. Select your iPhone according to the name you give it in the iTunes sidebar.

3. Under the “Summary” tab, scroll down to ‘Options’

3. Click the checkbox next to “Encrypt iPhone backup” which will bring up a screen to set an encrypted backup password.

set iTunes backup password

Set password to encrypt iTunes backup

Note: Don’t forget to enter a strong password and write down this password in case of forgeting it. For Mac users with complex passwords, or if you want the option to recover lost encrypted backup passwords, you’ll need to check the box for “Remember this password in Keychain”. What that does is make the password remembered by Keychain which is then guarded by the system-wide administrator password. The keychain option is not available to Windows users.

Do not forget this password! Without it, you will not be able to access iTunes backup, neither can you restore iTunes backup to iOS device, nor can you extract the data with iTunes data extractor. Likewise, you will need to enter the password anytime you restore your iPhone iTunes backup. In worst case that you forgot or lost iTunes backup password, use a tool named iPhone backup unlocker to try to unlock the iPhone backup password.

  • Stops responding, showing the Apple logo with no progress bar or a stopped progress bar, for over ten minutes.

Note: What is the difference between iPhone DFU mode and Recovery Mode

How to Place iPhone into Recovery Mode?

We have the easiest way to enter and exit iPhone Recovery Mode with one click.  Use Tenorshare ReiBoot – A piece of FREE and SAFE software to enter and exit iPhone/iOS Recovery Mode.  It is the best and quick way to put iPhone into Recovery Mode or get iOS deviec out of Recovery Mode.

Below is the way adopted by many people in the past. It is someway useful yet complicated. However, it may be useless when iPhone “Home” and “Power” button is not working.

1. Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer’s USB port.

2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider which says “Slide to power off”.

Note: If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time for several seconds.

3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
Note: If you see the screen pictured below, let the device charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some charge, and then start with step 2 again.

5. If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the following “recovery mode” alert: “iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes.”

iWatch rumor

Everyone is talking about Apple’s rumored iWatch, and more and more evidence floods to suggest that an iWatch will release not far away.

As a matter of fact, Rumors about an iWatch have been circulating since as far back as 2011, when it was believed that Apple had employed several new wearable computing experts to work on such device. Also, rumors said that Apple has a team of 100 people working on an iWatch, and the recent reports suggesting Apple has hired the Nike FuelBand developer. So signs show that iWatch is coming. The only matter is when to be available to users.

When will the Apple iWatch Launch?

According to a recent report, Apple will launch their iWatch will at the second half of 2014. How long it is from now. Plus, some reports said that there is also a chance for iWatch to come later than that. Then again, the iWatch might not arrive until 2016.

“We believe technology could progress to a point where consumers have a tablet plus wearable computers, like watches or glasses, that enable the simple things like voice calls, texting, quick searches, navigation etc. through voice control,” said Munster. “Long term, screens in glasses or projectors could replace the necessity of a screen from a smartphone or tablet.”

Apple CEO Tim Cook has hinted that Apple is working on new product categories ahead of a 2014 launch, too.

What Will iWatch Look Like?

Before we determine when iWatch will come, let’s learn what iWatch will bring to us.

1. iWatch would be money maker

One report suggested that the rumored iWatch might not be a watch at all. Instead, some people suggested that iWatch could be the name that Apple gives to its rumored television set, dubbed iTV.

2. The iWatch will run iOS

The New York Times published a report that says that the watch would operate on Apple’s iOS platform, which would enable developers to create apps for the device, and Apple could also include its own apps in the iWatch, such as turn-by-turn walking directions and Find My iPhone.

3. The iWatch will charge wirelessly

Apple will integrate technology into the iWatch to enable it to charge while still on the wrist via a wireless charger positioned several feet away.

4. The iWatch will be Siri controlled

Apple will remove the need for buttons and menu trees in the iWatch by including Siri functionality. He believes that there will be some touch aspects to the device, but that Siri will handle the more complex tasks such as setting a timer or alarm, or forecasting the weather in particular locations.

5. The iWatch will act as an iPhone or iPad passcode alternative

Apple could use the iWatch to remove the need for passcodes to unlock iOS devices. The iWatch could act as a key that would unlock an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch when in close range of one another. It’s also been reported that Apple is looking to ditch passcodes in future iOS devices through the use of fingerprint sensors or new image recognition technology. If this is the truth, iPhone and iPad, iPod users will be excited that they won’t suffer the password problem.

6. The iWatch will include a sensor for sports and health

It’s likely that Apple will include several sensors in its iWatch that could track steps, pulse, flights of stairs etc. It could also include a proximity sensor to help you find it if you’ve left it in a drawer or dropped it somewhere in your house, Tognazzini suggests.

7. The iWatch will have NFC

Near Field Communication (NFC) “belongs in the iWatch, not in the iPhone!” says Tognazzini, who says that such feature would allow users to pay for things quickly and easily.

8. The iWatch will be waterproof

9. The iWatch will have music features

The device could act as a controller for an iPhone to enable users to choose tracks, rather than storing music itself.

Galaxy Gear release date

Galaxy Gear

Samsung Galaxy Gear comes earlier than iWatch, Which Will be More Popular?

It is obvious that Samsung want to occupy the market before Apple, and we users are eager to try the all-new watch. Then to this degree, Samsung has more benefits.
